Facebook Message from Jean's son, Todd:
We sent an angel home yesterday. Jean Ann Erickson Connor, better known to us by any number of names including Mor Mor, Jeannie Bean, Mrs. Connor, MiMi... not to mention the dozens more who considered her their absolute 'best friend'. To me she was simply Mom. She taught me you never go to bed angry, say I love you at every chance, and that every person deserves love and consideration. She emanated joy, and loved to be proud of her family, her kids, and her grandkids. I used to wonder if these simple lessons were enough. It turns out they were everything. I imagine she's dancing in heaven, maybe in a white tennis skirt, and has already made a thousand friends. We love you mom.

A Tribute to Jean from Betsy Ovitt
I have known Jean since Cumberland grade school. She was a very funny kid and her laugh... well it just sparked more laughter. She was Miss Everything in high school....Cheerleader, Homecoming Queen, and voted for all of the categories like Miss Wonderful senior year. There were a bunch of us who came in second who got titles since she couldn’t have them all. And she was so genuine, humble, and a great friend. Of all of us, she should have had a great, long life. But... We will miss her. I can still hear her laugh.

I  can't believe it has been a year since we lost dear Jeanie. I miss her and think of her so often, the memories we shared, the laughter and yes the tears. I remember when I first met her on the tennis courts by Henry Clay before our freshman year. I see her walking down the halls greeting everyone she met, doing cartwheels on the gym floor the year she was a cheerleader and waving from the convertible with her beautiful smile our senior year when she was homecoming queen. I picture us at her aunt's farm one summer, watching the Rockettes in NYC on our senior class trip, racing around Florence with the Foozi brothers when we traveled to Europe in college, picking out her wedding dress and holding Eric, her first born, at his christening as his godmother.

Sometimes a song, a word, a joke shared over a visit or telephone call bring a smile, laughter or a tear. I still see her, "Here, There and Everywhere". Her joyful spirit, love and kindness will remain in my heart forever.
