Whitefish Bay High School Class of 1964
Frederick "Rick" Holtz
In my memory Donald (or Don as he was called) was a quiet leader. Though he and I were never in any
high school classes together and I didn't attend Richards in the elementary years, I knew Don well from
Scouting. Both he and his older brother Ken were model boy scouts and their father "Charlie" Post was
our Assistant Scout Master for Troop 72 that met Monday evenings in the basement of the Methodist Church
on East Silver Spring Drive. Those "Scouting" years were great years and Don was always a high achiever,
always one of the first to always earn those tough little merit badges that were so time consuming. More
importantlyDon (like his father and brother) so enjoyed helping others at every opportunity. Don was
amazingly focused on whatever challenge or project he was engaged in. That ability to stay so focused was
not a quality most of us as teenagers had. When I left Scouting Don had achieved the rank of
"Life Scout" and was just finishing his Eagle Scout project. I will always remember Don, (his father, and
brother too) as individuals that loved to teach and enable others to do their best, and have fun in the
process! Thanks for making Scouting so much fun! Blessings Always! May you and you rfamily be continue
together resting in God's Glory, His and Now Your Heavenly Home! Frederick
